our Programming & Vision

At Art Haven, our programs focus on the creative, hands-on process of making art.

Using high-quality materials and playful, collaborative lessons, we spark imagination, storytelling, and connection. Our guided, open-ended projects give students the freedom to explore their ideas and bring their creativity to life.

We are especially proud to mentor young people as they grow into young adults. Many of our students participate in Art Haven’s Teacher-in-Training pathway, progressing from classroom helpers at age 11, to teaching assistants at 14, and eventually to instructors at 18. Many remain with us throughout high school and college, providing Art Haven with exceptional staff continuity, institutional knowledge, and experience.

In addition to our in-studio classes and community art-making events, we partner with local organizations to offer a wide range of customized programs, from one-time workshops to ongoing, multi-season classes.

Our vision is a Cape Ann where every child has access to the transformative power of art and feels empowered to express their unique voice—fostering personal growth, building connections, and strengthening our entire community.
