About the Instructor

Deanna Jacome is a mixed-media artist, educator, and creator of Shady Tree Maker. Jacome's fine arts practice primarily consists of mixed-media acrylic paintings, where she combines natural elements and pieces of past paintings, collages, or books. Shady Tree Maker was created in the summer of 2015 as a way to bring together her diverse body of multimedia endeavors, including, Turkish Marbled goods, handbound books, flower crowns, clay jewelry, dreamcatchers, and mixed-media collages. Deanna’s work is featured in local stores and cafes and showcases her fine artwork in galleries and businesses.  She runs Shady Tree Maker out of her studio in Beverly, MA. She received her Initial Teaching Licensure (Pre K-8) and BFA in Art Education and Book Arts from Montserrat College of Art. Her love of nurturing others’ curiosity and of sharing an innate love of learning and artmaking has lead her to her current role at Art Haven.
